Cutting work for plate heat exchangers

March 2011 – Plate heat exchangers are used to heat up cold liquids and to cool off warm liquids without the two liquids coming into contact. Plate heat exchangers are used to cool buildings or diesel engines on large seagoing vessels, but also to heat up the pitches at football clubs like AZ Alkmaar, Real Madrid and Manchester United. The steel start and end plates in these heat exchangers are cut to size by De Boer Snijbedrijf.

Bicycle in apple

February 2011 – The eye-catcher at the railway station in Alphen aan den Rijn is the Bike Apple, a bike shelter in the form of an apple. The bike shelter is open, enhancing social control and safety. The different floors are reached via straight and spiral steel staircases for which Staco has supplied the perfo treads. Staco pressed gratings are used to enclose areas, ensuring safety.

MD Progressive is the thing of the future!

December 2010 – Métal Déployé is always looking for new applications for expanded metal. A newcomer to the range is MD Progressive: expanded metal with different mesh sizes and transparency. MD Progressive can be used for cladding to give buildings an entirely individual character or for sun shielding. MD Progressive provides architects with numerous options.

Galvanised apple storage chamber

November 2010 – Dutch love their apples. Top of the hit list are Elstar, Jonagold and Jonagored. Apples are harvested at the end of the summer and in early autumn. Apples can be cool-stored so that they are available all year. The steel structure and the steel girders of an apple storage chamber in Zeewolde were hot-dip galvanised by Verzinkerij Kampen.

Open day festivities at the Steel and Steel Processing division

October 2010 – The Steel and Steel Processing division of ROTO celebrated an open day on Friday, 8 October. De Boer Snijbedrijf showed its new offices and its 4,000 m2 state-of-the-art cutting workshop that will enable the cutting operations to be further expanded; De Boer Staal unveiled the 3,000 m2 extension to its covered storage facility; and the De Boer Buizen trade name returned to ROTO after fifteen years.

Tube service for fencing

September 2010 – Poedercoating Hoogeveen specialises in powder coating steel, galvanised steel, stainless steel and aluminium. The company also has a wide range of galvanised tubes in its standard stocks. These tubes, top tubes and other parts are very suitable for manufacturing fencing. All the tubes are galvanised by Verzinkerij Kampen, and Poedercoating Hoogeveen can coat them in any required RAL colour.

Energy for science

August 2010 – The Amsterdam Science Park is developing rapidly into an international centre for facilitating new commercial and scientific initiatives. These innovative developments require a lot of electricity and so a new state-of-the art of sub station has been built. The expanded metal aluminium cladding was supplied by Métal Déployé.

Merger in Heerhugowaard

June 2010 – Verzinkerij Heerhugowaard and Poedercoating Heerhugowaard have been working together intensively for years. To give a boost to that teamwork and to simplify the structure, it has been decided to organise a legal merger, housing the activities of Poedercoating Heerhugowaard with Verzinkerij Heerhugowaard B.V. with effect from 1 July 2010. The trade name Poedercoating Heerhugowaard will be maintained alongside the trade name Verzinkerij Heerhugowaard.

Prism relfects dazzling residential ambitions

May 2010 – The Vinkhuizen area in Groningen is the location for the Prism residential complex. The new building is home to 52 rented flats catering to all life phases, a parent and child centre with a playschool, a play and parenting shop, and a well-baby clinic. Verzinkerij Wolvega hot-dip galvanised the steel structure. The filler sheets and other small parts were hot-dip galvanised by Centrizink Wolvega.

Building work progressing steadily

March 2010 – The construction of De Boer Snijbedrijf's new cutting hall, with its steel skeleton galvanised by Verzinkerij Heerhugowaard, is proceeding apace. The building is now wind- and watertight and the floors are in place. The roof will be equipped with sound-proof roofing sheets and large strip roof lights, keeping out noise and letting in abundant natural light. The new extraction system means that there is much less dust in the hall. This all contributes to a pleasant working environment for the De Boer Snijbedrijf workforce.
